How we can support you
Family carers often provide a great deal of support. Respite care offers an opportunity to discuss a temporary care arrangement while the usual carer takes a break, attends to other commitments or is unavailable. Care should still reflect the individual’s established routines and preferences.
A carefully planned handover
Your initial conversation can cover:
- The dates, times and duration of the support needed
- The usual routine and how the person prefers to be helped
- Important contacts and how information will be handed over
- What should happen when the usual caring arrangement resumes
Contact us as early as possible to discuss the period you have in mind. We will confirm whether a suitable arrangement is available and what information we need before it can begin.
Arranging care with Gill Healthcare
Start by calling 01282 787800 or requesting a home visit. Tell us about the support you are looking for and where it is needed. We will discuss suitability and local availability, answer your questions and explain the next steps.
Before care begins, the agreed support, visit arrangements, costs and responsibilities should be clear to everyone involved. A home visit request is an enquiry; our team will contact you to confirm a suitable time.
